Hello! I’m Yvonne, the passionate owner of Common Thread, a lively sewing studio in Claremont, California. Alongside my dedicated team of instructors, we teach over 140 kids, teens, and adults each week, sharing our love for sewing and creativity.
My sewing journey began in high school, where my fascination with fashion, film, and theater inspired me to master the craft. After high school, I studied patternmaking at Los Angeles Trade Tech, which led me to design and costume work in theater and film. I’ve contributed to notable projects like La Bamba, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Stand and Deliver and had the honor of being Linda Ronstadt’s personal costumer during her Canciones de mi Padre musical tour.
