Thank you for your interest in becoming a presenter at Craftcation 2025! We’re excited to hear about your ideas and look forward to the possibility of having you join our community of inspiring creatives. Here’s some important information to help guide you through the application process.

open call for presenters - submission timeline:

  • Submission Period: To be considered for Craftcation 2025, please submit your forms between July 20, 2024 and August 20, 2024. Submissions received after this timeline will be considered for future events.
  • Review Period: Our team will be reviewing each submission and on a rolling acceptance basis. 
  • Notification of Selection: If your submission is accepted, you will be notified no later than September 15, 2024 via the email address included in your submission. If you have not heard from us by September 15, 2024 we were unable to accept your submission for Craftcation 2025. This could be for a number of reasons that may include (but are not limited to): supply acquisition, feasibility, and community interest. We receive hundreds of submissions each year and our team is unable to answer inquiries regarding individual submissions. Thank you for your understanding.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking for passionate and skilled presenters who can offer engaging and educational workshops for our attendees. Specifically, we seek:

  • Unique and Fresh Ideas: While we love traditional crafts, we are also on the lookout for innovative and contemporary workshop ideas that can offer something new and exciting to our community.
  • Updates to Repeat Workshops: If you propose an idea for a workshop you have taught with us in the past, consider new and exciting ways that you can elevate the attendee experience.
  • Diverse Workshop Topics: We welcome a wide range of crafting and creative subjects, including (but not limited to) sewing, paper crafts, fiber arts, dyeing, DIY projects and business skills for creatives.
  • Engaging Teaching Methods: We value interactive and hands-on teaching styles that encourage participation and creativity among attendees.

HOW TO APPLY:

STEP ONE: Complete the Presenter Profile Form. This form gathers essential details about you, your background, and your teaching experience as well as your bio and headshot.

STEP TWO: Submit Your Workshop Idea Form. Provide us with detailed descriptions of your proposed workshops, including objectives, materials needed, and any specific requirements.

For their participation, Craftcation Presenters are offered:

  • Complimentary Registration: Access to over 200 exclusive events, workshops, and activities. Enjoy an enriching experience valued at $675, designed to inspire and empower presenters like you. 
  • Nightly Travel Stipend: Depending on the number of sessions hosted, you may qualify for a travel stipend*.
  • Affiliate Program Invitation: Earn $35 commission per ticket purchased through your custom link.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Product Showcase Opportunity: Automatic acceptance of your products (stationery, prints, books, craft kits, etc.) in our fully staffed pop-up shop.
  • Book Signing Event: Option to participate in our book signing event to meet and interact with attendees.
  • Office Hours: Get the chance to meet with attendees one-on-one to answer questions based on your expertise. Office hours are usually 10-20 minute one-on-one sessions (blocks and increments are up to you). These sessions are optional but are a great way for you to build your client base in an intimate setting.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow creative entrepreneurs and our sponsors.
  • Promotion: Gain exposure through our social media, blog, and newsletter reaching over 100k users and subscribers.
  • Location Perks: Enjoy the beautiful and artsy beach town of Ventura, CA, with time to explore and relax.

*Compensation is based on hosting/participation in a minimum of 2 sessions (workshops, panels, forums, lectures, events, etc.). Travel stipend is offered to presenters who are confirmed for at least 3 total sessions.*

SESSION FORMATS AVAILABLE AT CRAFTCATION:

Craftcation Business Makers Conference California
  • HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS: These immersive workshops provide step-by-step guidance, ensuring participants leave with a finished product or valuable new skillset. Whether focused on craft, photography, wellness or other topics, these sessions typically require a full 2-hour time block and may include unique experiences like off-site workshops and get-togethers.
  • MAKE & TAKES:  Informal, after-hours crafting sessions! Make & take projects are quick and engaging, generally taking less than 20 minutes to complete.
  • PANELS: Insightful business discussions led by a moderator with a panel of three or more experts chosen by our team.
  • LECTURES: Present your expertise in solo business classes on niche topics. Share your knowledge on subjects like Photoshop 101, Instagram strategy, goal-getting, growing your email list, or selling on Etsy.
  • THINK TANKS: Roundtable-style small groups, limited to 20 people, focused on specific topics. These sessions are perfect for receiving feedback and sharing experiences on subjects such as shop ownership, website critiques, and even personal growth.
